શેન વોર્ન તેના વિલામાં બેભાન હાલતમાં
મળી આવ્યો હતો અને તમામ પ્રયાસો છતાં તેને હોશમાં લાવી શકાયો નહોતો. શેન વોર્નનો
પરિવાર આ સમયે બોલવાની સ્થિતિમાં નથી અને તે આ સમાચારથી ચોંકી ગયા છે.

15 વર્ષની કારકિર્દીમાં 708 ટેસ્ટ વિકેટ લીધી

શેન વોર્ને તેની 15 વર્ષની કારકિર્દીમાં 1992 થી 2007 વચ્ચે ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા માટે 708 ટેસ્ટ વિકેટ
લીધી હતી. શેન વોર્ને 1992માં સિડનીમાં ભારત સામે તેની ટેસ્ટ
ડેબ્યૂ કરી હતી અને ત્યાર બાદ તે પછીના વર્ષે માર્ચમાં વેલિંગ્ટનમાં ન્યૂઝીલેન્ડ
સામે તેની ODI ડેબ્યૂ કરી હતી.

ભજવી હતી

વિઝડનની સદીના પાંચ ક્રિકેટરોમાંના એક
તરીકે પસંદગી પામેલા શેન વોર્ને 293 વિકેટ સાથે પોતાની ODI કારકિર્દીનો અંત આણ્યો હતો. તેણે 1999માં ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયાની ODI વર્લ્ડ કપ
જીતમાં પણ મહત્વની ભૂમિકા ભજવી હતી. ઓલ્ડ ટ્રેફોર્ડ સ્ટેડિયમ ખાતે 3 જૂન 1993ના રોજ શેન વોર્ને ઈંગ્લેન્ડના દિગ્ગજ
બેટ્સમેન માઈક ગેટિંગને તેની પ્રથમ એશિઝ ટેસ્ટના પહેલા જ બોલ પર બોલ્ડ કર્યો અને
બોલને લગભગ 90 ડિગ્રી ફેરવ્યો.

'બોલ ઓફ ધ સેન્ચુરી'એ ચમત્કાર કર્યો

શેન વોર્ને (1992-2007) તેની 15 વર્ષની સુવર્ણ કારકિર્દીમાં ઘણી શાનદાર બોલિંગ કરી હતી. પરંતુ 1993ની એશિઝ શ્રેણીમાં
માઈક ગેટિંગને ફેંકવામાં આવેલો બોલ ઘણો ખાસ હતો. વોર્નનો બોલ લેગ-સ્ટમ્પની બહાર
હતો અને એવું લાગતું હતું કે બોલ વાઈડ હોઈ શકે છે, ગેટિંગે તેને રમવાનો પ્રયાસ કર્યો ન હતો. આ દરમિયાન બોલ ઝડપથી વળ્યો અને
તેના ઓફ-સ્ટમ્પ સાથે અથડાયો ગૅટિંગ બોલ્ડ થઈ ગયો. જેણે બધાને આશ્ચર્યચકિત કર્યા. તે બોલને 'બોલ ઓફ ધ સેન્ચ્યુરી' કહેવામાં આવતો હતો.
